Pine Park Resort

Nestled among the tall pines along the shores of 491-acre Island Lake, Pine Park Resort offers the kind of classic Minnesota lake vacation that generations of families have grown to love. Established in 1920 and operated by the third-generation Theisen family, this small, family-owned resort is located about nine miles north of Park Rapids and 11 miles south of Itasca State Park.

The resort features just six seasonal cabins, creating a quiet and personal atmosphere away from larger, busier properties. Cabins are clean and comfortable with kitchens, living and dining areas, satellite TV and Wi-Fi, while several offer beautiful views overlooking Island Lake.

Summer days at Pine Park Resort revolve around the water. Guests can enjoy the sandy swimming beach, fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and other lake activities. Island Lake is especially known for its walleye fishing and connects by water to Eagle Lake and Potato Lake, giving anglers and boaters even more shoreline to explore. The resort also provides complimentary paddleboards, canoes and paddle boats along with a playground, volleyball court and other outdoor recreation.

With more than a century of history, Pine Park Resort captures the character of the traditional mom-and-pop Minnesota resort—simple cabins, days spent on the lake, evenings beneath the pines and owners who are personally invested in their guests' experience. Its location between Park Rapids and Itasca State Park also makes it an excellent home base for exploring the greater Park Rapids lakes area.
