Mantrap Lodge
Set along the northern shore of 1,770-acre Big Mantrap Lake, Mantrap Lodge offers a classic Northwoods vacation surrounded by forests, islands, quiet bays and nearly 35 miles of fishable shoreline. Located about 15 minutes from Park Rapids and convenient to Itasca State Park, the family-owned resort provides a secluded lake-country atmosphere while remaining close to area attractions.
Mantrap Lodge features 16 private cabins ranging from one to five bedrooms, making it a great fit for couples, fishing groups, families and larger reunions. Cabins include full kitchens, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, while many feature screened porches overlooking the lake.
The resort is especially known for its combination of fishing and family recreation. Big Mantrap Lake provides opportunities for muskie, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie and sunfish. Guests can also enjoy a sandy beach, swimming dock, heated swimming pool with slide, hot tub, playground, sand volleyball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, bicycles, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats. During peak summer weeks, Mantrap Lodge hosts activities such as pizza nights, bingo, waffle breakfasts, wagon rides, marshmallow roasts, minnow races and kids' crafts.
Adding to its traditional Minnesota resort character is the historic lodge, built in 1890. The lodge serves as a gathering place with games, books and indoor activities, along with a gift shop and classic resort porch.
